Reaching out at Fairfield Baptist Church
Our Current Ministries Include:
Prayer: We believe that everything we do, have done, or consider doing, is underpinned by prayer and we are so thankful for that prayer is a vital part of church life. During our services, we pray together for specific needs related to our church family, our community, our nation, missionaries, national and international situations. Prayer is also an vital component in our small groups and mission ministries.
Monday Evening Prayer Meetings: These have become very special and inspirational times when, as we take time to be still before the Lord, He leads us in prayer with no two weeks ever being quite the same. We have seen how God has led us and directed our paths over the years and know that He will continue to lead us as we move forward. We also pray for the needs in our church family, community and nation. Everyone is welcome to join us in the Cafe at 7pm on a Monday evening.
Intercessory Prayer: This is where individuals or groups of two or three pray together for specific needs in our church. Many people also pray in their homes for the church, for missionaries overseas, and for one another.
Before Service & Congregational Prayer: 9:00am in the Oasis Room before our services and at the front of the chapel after our service for individuals who would like prayer.
During our services, we pray together for specific needs, friends, families who have loved ones who have walked away from God or who don’t know Him, those who are unwell, for our nation and our Government. Local and international tragedies and major events such as fires, floods and earthquakes are prayed for as they happen.
Prayer Chain: We have a great team who pray for one another in our FBC family and for many others – Christian and non Christian. The team is notified by email and all prayer requests are handled confidentially. We can celebrate God’s answers to prayers and updates are always welcome.
I live in the spirit of prayer. I pray as I walk about, when I lie down and when I rise up. And the answers are always coming. Thousands and tens of thousands of times have my prayers been answered. When once I am persuaded that a thing is right and for the glory of God, I go on praying for it until the answer comesGeorge Mueller
Music Team: We appreciate our music and singing team who lead us in worshipping God at the beginning of each service.
Children’s Church: Our children worship with the adults for the first half of the Sunday service and then have a Bible study and morning tea during the sermon time. We believe that children need to feel part of the church, participating in church and worshipping together with the whole congregation. We want them to feel they are a valuable part of our congregation and also recognise the importance of teaching them Biblical values in a way they can understand.
Woman2Woman: A ministry for all women in the church and beyond; a ministry where women of all ages can feel comfortable and included; a ministry offering friendship, and acceptance. W2W hold these afternoons 3-4 times each year. With a wide variety of activities, guest speakers and a spiritual aspect. This is also a great opportunity to minister to women of all ages. Everyone is welcome and these events are always a lot of fun. In the last twelve months, , we have had a ‘high tea’ afternoon, an indoor garden party; a Christmas Inspiration evening with craft segment, and each year a food, film and fellowship evening.
Blokes Ministry: A periodic gathering of the ‘FBC Blokes’ & guests who explore different workplaces, fun and fellowship. This is a great opportunity for our men folk to get to know one another in a relaxed environment.
